Course Description: This course explores the dynamic and evolving character of Anabaptist identity over a 500-year period. It attends to the various theological impulses that shaped Anabaptism in its early phases and then explores developments in the centuries that followed, leading to a description and assessment of Anabaptism in its contemporary and global context. Special attention will be given to the Anabaptist-Mennonite story.
Welcome to the course. I'm looking forward to connecting with students and to teaching. I'm including a draft version of the syllabus and will likely continue to make small revisions to the syllabus until the beginning of class time.
I'm also asking that you respond to the following question through a forum post. Please respond at any time this week or next. Your response can be as short or long as you wish.
Discuss your level of familiarity or unfamiliarity with the Anabaptist story and identify a question, or series of questions that you bring to this class.
